This year's block of the month (BOM) theme is "All About Stars". Two block patterns will be posted each month from August to January (twelve blocks total). The patterns will be offered in three sizes.
2011 President's Challenge
This year's challenge is once again based on the BOM. To enter the challenge, create a quilt using all twelve blocks as well as a PIL from your collection. (Note: "PIL" stands for "Pieces in Limbo" - those pieces often left over once a quilting project is finished.) Your PIL may be used in the label if not used in the top, but it may not just be sewn into the backing.
To participate, select and register your PIL by the October meeting. Your quilt must be pieced, quilted, bound and labeled to be entered in the challenge at the May 2011 meeting. The quilt may be quilted by someone other than yourself as long as the quilter is credited in the label.
